Arab-American rapper reaching people across globe: Journey Time with Phay

HannahJoyTV — Atlanta Rapper Faris Mousa, known as Phay, is reaching people across the globe with his music. In this episode of Journey Time, Phay opens up about his journey and how he reached 4 million Spotify streams with no label, no PR and no management — just his supporters. He talks about everything from his experiences of being a Muslim Arab-American rapper to creating a sustainable lifestyle with his music.

Phay is the proud son of Palestinian immigrants who came to the United States as refugees in the late 70s and early 80s to start over and create a new life. His father went on to start a successful Georgia based chain restaurant, Mediterranean Grill. Phay discusses how he managed his family’s restaurant for years while cultivating his passions on the side. He realized the job was not making him happy and eventually committed to pursuing his passion for music and turning it into a rewarding career.
